Vehicle Exports to Bermuda

Shipping vehicles to Bermuda can be very tricky.  In an effort to reduce vehicular thefts and smuggling, U.S. Customs has issued a policy that requires shippers have their vehicles delivered to the port and documentation 72 hours prior to the ship sailing.

What that means for YOU is we need the original title and the original bill of sale** in enough time to complete our documents that need to be validated PRIOR to the 72 hour rule by U.S. Customs.  Two days is plenty of time for us to complete our documents and courier the title and bill of sale to Fernandina Beach port for validation.  It does not get validated in Jacksonville. This also means we will need the vehicle here in enough time to get loaded into a container and trucked to Fernandina Beach before the 72 hour cut off time.  Please do not wait.

Your vehicle is required to be drained of gasoline and have batteries disconnected, otherwise it is considered hazardous cargo that we will be unable to ship.  Once your vehicle arrives to Bermuda, you will then be able to clear it through customs and the original bill of sale and title will be returned to you.

Prior to starting the process, however, you should confirm with the Government of Bermuda - Ministry of Tourism and Transport to confirm your vehicle is within legal specifications for imports.  They can be contacted at 441-292-1271.  You can also find their requirements on the attachment below.

**Note:  A notarized copy of the bill of sale is an acceptable substitute for the original.
